Always Changing!!

Hey guys, I (Nicole) have had an amaaaazing January and am so thankful for all the kind words from people in the past month. I have been playing weekends and practicing new songs weekdays.

God has really been teaching me a lot lately with just molding me. He is constantly teaching me that my ways are nothing compared to his. He is always showing me where I mess up and that sounds like a "bad" thing, but it is really a blessing. Its a blessing because in order to be a better example to others, I need to know what I need to improve. Of course, when God is showing me, it doesn't "feel" like a blessing but it is necessary for a much needed change. Then I can have better relationships with friends, family and everyone else!! Of course, I want to be perfect in every move I make, but I find out everyday that is not possible. No one can be or will be!! That is why I need God's help everyday.

Also, when I look at myself and my faults, it is crazy for me to judge anyone else. It seems like in our culture, people get judged by one mistake or action in there life. It is something that I catch myself doing when I see a news headline or something else. It is something that makes Christians turn others off big-time!! God has been showing me that I should not be known for the things that I don't believe in or don't think is right, I should be known for what I love and who I love and that I love no matter what, just like God loves me even though I mess up every day. So the next time we see that rumor or fact, it doesn't matter, God loves us no matter what so we should do the same!! Love you all!! -Nicole :)

Cowboys, Snakes, Studio, & a New Year!

Cowboys, snakes, the studio, hillbillies, and chickens describe some of our last year. The Double Wide Church Video was an ADVENTURE in itself.  It was my first acting debut, but I did survive with only a cracked but now fixed violin! (Thanks Williams Violin Shop :-)), and everyone escaped the clutches of the snake and Swamp People! I was so grateful to all the fans from across the country that helped us out by being "hillbillies" and meeting them was UNFORGETTABLE!!! Also, thanks to you all for watching and sharing the video on facebook, youtube, and emails.  The DWC SHARE-A-THON is going to be ending at the end of this month, but you still have time to participate. CLICK HERE for more info.
After the Cowboy Church... Howdy Ya'll! :-)
We topped off 2 final concerts of the year at a cowboy church, (as you can see by the pics) and a kentucky new years bash at a church. Meeting people different from you allow you learn from the them and learn more about yourself.  The closer I come to know people, the more I realize what we have in common with them!  It was our first time to play on New Years, and hopefully not our last!!!!!  Not bursting bottlerockets and cannons in the air with a raging fire like normal was a little different, but praying into the New Year and seeking a better year was waaaayy worth missing that!!!
Guess who's singing in the studio!  (Hint: banjo)
Studio time has really taken up a lot of our time, but we can't wait to let out what's gonna come out of our NEW CD!  Some songs that we wrote mixed in with little attitude and sweetness compiles our cd.  A cool beat, a little too much banjo(just kidding Nicole), and our thoughts were put together to make it up.
Now for 2012, it has come so quickly! It seems like life is going so fast for me, but so far I've had a good start.  A new year represents a new day.  We can start over each day wanting to have a better one than we had a day before.  God forgiving me for what I did yesterday allows me to live TODAY with a NEW attitude and guiltless from what I did the day before.  So start fresh with me today, tomorrow, the next day, etc... striving to be more loving towards God and others.  Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."

NEW CD Info/Music Video

Hey there!

This is Nika! You usually here from Natalie or Nicole, but today I decided to tell you all what we’ve been up to lately.

We have been working on some new songs for our upcoming CD that we will be recording soon.  We actually co-wrote a couple songs on this album.  We’re excited to share them with you all! We thank you for your support so we can record another CD! The songs we will be putting on the CD are songs that we have related to in many different ways such as either fun, country, trials we’ve been through ourselves, and just life in general! Just different things God has showed us and blessed us with! He is awesome, and we hope that we can praise him together with this new CD!

We have been to and performed at many places that were special to us!
We have made a New Music Video to our NEW single  “Double Wide Church”  that had a lot of fans and radio DJs participating in it; so be looking for them and also some special guests!

Love yall! Have a Great thanksgiving! God Bless! -Nika

Smokey Eye Make-Up Tutorial by Natalie...

Hey ya'll!  I love putting on eyeshadow, and it is the funnest part of doing my makeup.  My favorite eyeshadow look is the Smokey Eye.  I usually use the colors black, silver, and white, so it can be a pretty easy process.  I just wanted to make a video to show that getting the smokey eye look can be fun and easy while taking less than 5 minutes.  A few little tips and EXTRA Fun tricks are also included in the video, so I hope this helps anyone in achieving the Smokey Eye!

Simple things

I (Nic) have had some time during the past week or so to relax. I am still playing on weekends and some weekdays but I still managed to get some time to just sit in the front yard and enjoy the sunlight anyways.
My chickens are all grown up now (ha that sounds so dumb) and I get to enjoy gathering eggs and trying to raise more little chicks. It is just neat to see God's creation. I think its so cool how chickens know that they are supposed to climb into a square box and lay their eggs. They can't understand English so that haven't heard anyone tell them to do that. They could lay their eggs anywhere but they automatically know the right certain spot is THE spot to lay their eggs. Maybe I'm easily amazed, but I don't care, that's cool.  God wired that into them. God put it in their DNA. I think he did a similar thing to us. He put it in our DNA to be happy in the sunlight, in nature, so that we would know that there is someone greater than us. So we would ask questions about creation and know in our hearts that there is a greater being that could have only designed everything to work together so well. Just think, the most complicated thing that we can make is still not as impressive as making a chicken from nothing. A skyscraper or rocket ship is a lot of metal (that God created) and impressive electronics, but humans still have not managed to make something so impressive as a chicken. Just think about what we would do without chickens!! -Nic
